Short description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee dredging and construction projects from initiation to completion. This role is responsible for planning, execution, financial management, and team supervision to ensure project success while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Function description
The Project Manager plays a key role in managing dredging and construction projects, ensuring smooth operations from pre-project planning to final execution. The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits before project initiation.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Assess lessons learned from previous projects and integrate them into new strategies.
- Develop and implement project execution strategies in coordination with supervisors.
- Establish project objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Oversee project mobilization, execution, and demobilization while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage project crew and staff requirements.
- Promote and enforce company safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.
- Implement and oversee safety management procedures to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
- Ensure accurate and timely internal and client reporting, including daily logs, invoicing, schedules, and financial updates.
- Conduct production and survey management, including data acquisition, analysis, and dredging profile verification.
- Maintain cost control and financial reporting, including fuel, labor, consumables, and invoicing.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and transmission of weekly timesheets.
- Handle procurement of project materials, rental equipment, and logistics.
- Foster strong client relationships, addressing project goals, risks, and challenges.
- Administer contracts and support business development by engaging with past, present, and potential clients.
- Conduct project closeout activities, including final invoicing, end-of-project reporting, and lessons learned assessments.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven ability to manage construction projects valued at $50M+.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, plans, and specifications.
- Experience supervising and managing project staff and crew members.
- Analytical skills with strong decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to enforce company policies and safety regulations.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Capability to work in remote project locations for extended periods.
- Reliability, motivation, and strong teamwork orientation.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and clients
