Short description
We are looking for experienced second engineers who are ready to join Van Oord in a permanent employment. In a nice rotation schedule of 5:5 weeks, you will report directly to the chief engineer on board of this advanced dredging fleet which is working worldwide.
Function description
For Van Oord we are currently searching for engineers who would like to pursue their future on the advanced fleet of this global player in the dredging sector in a long-term employment contract.
As a second engineer, you will work in an experienced team of machinists where sharing your knowledge and skills is welcome.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Daily operations in the engine room
- You are partly responsible for managing the team of engineers
- Diagnosing and detecting technical malfunctions of machines and systems
- Maintaining the technical installations on board
- With high safety standards, you’ll ensure all work is conducted safely and in line with Van Oord’s protocols. You’ll also receive an onboard introduction covering essential topics to support your start
Requirements
What will you bring?
- A good dose of experience on board various Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers
- interest in new developments in dredging and environmental requirements
- Dutch Certificate of Competence Chief Engineer all ships
- Up to date STCW certificates
- Seamans book
- Seafarers Medical
- Fluent English in word and writing
