Short description
As a Marine Engineer, you will be a member of a specialist team dedicated to engineering offshore installation/removal solutions for a variety of fixed / floating structures for the Oil and Gas Industry, as well as the Offshore Wind market.
Function description
Duties/activities will generally involve the following:
- Motions analysis of floating vessels; for the purpose of deriving cargo accelerations, motions/clearance of lifted objects, etc.
- Towing analysis to determine characteristics of towed objects (tow tug requirements, stability, etc.)
- Determine ballasting sequence for installation of floating structures (Launch Jackets, SPARs, etc.)
- Mooring line installation/removal analysis for floating facilities (FPUs, FPSOs, SPARSs, etc.)
- Statistical environmental analysis and weather down-time assessment
- Provide fabrication yard representation, for preparation/installation of critical marine equipment
- Provide offshore representation and direct guidance for offshore crew

Requirements
In addition to having experience in this area, and being a US citizen we have the following requirements:
- Education: Minimum Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in an appropriate field (Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Etc.)
- Experience: We are entertaining applicants from all levels of experience. For those applying with several years of working experience, use/exposure to the following is most valued:
- Relevant experience in the design/analysis of floating structures
- Programming and data analysis using Matlab or Python
- Experience with Orcaflex
- Working knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices and their application (e.g. ABS, DNV, API, ISO codes, etc.)
- Experience in structural design of grillage and seafastenings for offshore transportation of structures not mandatory, but a plus
- Softwares:
- General knowledge of hydrodynamic and stability software (e.g. MOSES, WAMIT, HydroD, etc.)
- 3D CAD software (e.g. Multisurf, Rhino, etc.)
Note this is predominantly an office position, with periodic travel. Travel will be domestic as well as international and is expected to be up to 20%.
