Function description
The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the crane on board a cable laying vessel, ensuring the handling, loading, and unloading of heavy equipment, materials, and subsea cables. The operator must adhere to safety protocols and industry standards, coordinating with the deck crew and other vessel personnel to support offshore construction and cable-laying operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the crane to lift, move, and position heavy equipment, materials, and subsea cables as per operational requirements.
- Perform precision lifting and positioning of cable reels, equipment containers, and other materials required for offshore cable installation.
- Ensure safe handling and transportation of loads, following lifting plans and risk assessments.
Requirements
To qualify for this job, you must:
- Have Sparrows stage 3 certificate.
- Good level of English language.
- OPITO BOSIET (or HUET) with CA-EBS.
- MLC medical.
- UK work permit or British citizenship.
