Function description
At iPS Powerful People, we are continuously seeking talented professionals to join our team for future offshore projects. While we do not have a specific job opening at the moment, we are proactively building a pool of qualified candidates who are ready to mobilize quickly for upcoming opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure all machinery operates efficiently and safely.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the operation of the vessel's engineering department.
- Monitor the performance of machinery and make adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare and submit reports on machinery performance and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure all team members follow proper procedures and safety practices.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Marine engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Certification as a 2nd Engineer or equivalent, depending on the country and type of vessel.
- Professional experience in marine engineering, in an offshore environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and leadership abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to the dynamic conditions of offshore operations.
