Function description
Van Oord is seeking an experienced 1st and 2nd Engineers with strong offshore backgrounds, particularly in jacking systems and offshore construction/installation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical equipment, specifically systems for jacking operations.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in managing the vessel's engineering department.
- Prepare and submit reports on machinery performance and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to team members to ensure proper procedures and safety practices are followed.
Requirements
To qualify for this job, a perfect candidate should have:
- Certificate of Competency as a 2nd Engineer STCW III/2 or equivalent;
- BOSIET/FOET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training);
- STCW's for the rank;
- National Medical MLC and Offshore Medical certificate;
- High Voltage and DP Maintenance certification;
- GWO certification is considered an advantage;
- Fluent English in word and writing.
