Function Description

At iPS Powerful People, we’re always looking for skilled professionals to join our team for upcoming offshore projects. While we don’t have an immediate opening, we are proactively building a talent pool of qualified candidates who can mobilize quickly and bring broad experience on offshore vessels.


As a Chief Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel’s engineering systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and optimize the performance of all onboard machinery.
  • Plan and supervise routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Lead and coordinate the engineering crew, delegate tasks effectively, and enforce strict safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel consumption, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables, initiating timely replenishment requests.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, an ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:


  • Valid Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer
  • Experience on offshore vessels such as Cable layers, Pipe layers, Jack Ups, Offshore installation vessels, Flexible fallpipe vessels
  • BOSIET or FOET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)
  • STCW certificates relevant to the rank
  • Valid National Medical Certificate (MLC) and Offshore Medical Certificate
  • High Voltage and DP Maintenance certifications
  • GWO 5 Modules certification – considered an advantage
  • Permit to work in EU
  • UK FWP or USA B1 Visa with wind farm activities annotation (not OCS activities) - considered an advantage
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
