We are looking for a Warehouse Operator (Storekeeper) to join our client’s team in Beverwijk, The Netherlands. This role involves managing warehouse operations for both local and international projects, ensuring technicians have timely access to materials, parts, and tools.
Function description
The Warehouse Operator (Storekeeper) is responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouse activities on-site and at the central location in Beverwijk. The position focuses on accurate inventory control, timely material availability, and smooth coordination with technicians and project teams. Key responsibilities include:
Warehouse Management & Logistics Execution
- Receive, inspect, register, and store incoming goods.
- Issue materials, parts, and tools to technicians.
- Prepare and dispatch shipments, including order picking.
- Monitor stock levels, identify shortages, and place timely replenishment orders.
- Ensure frequently used items are consistently available.
- Operate forklifts or pallet trucks for internal transport.
- Set up and maintain mobile workshops or project containers.
Safety, Quality & Order
- Comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (HSEQ).
- Wear required PPE and follow safety procedures.
- Report unsafe situations and maintain a clean, organized warehouse.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and safety rounds.
Support & Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with technicians regarding material usage and planning.
- Align priorities with the Project Manager.
- Work with logistics and purchasing teams to optimize processes.
- Suggest improvements for warehouse layout and operations.
- Share knowledge and contribute to a positive team environment.
Control & Quality Assurance
- Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory checks.
- Inspect tools, PPE, and equipment as per schedule.
- Maintain inspection and maintenance documentation.
- Prepare for internal and external audits.
- Identify and report material or equipment damage.
The ideal candidate must already reside in the Netherlands, live within commuting distance of Beverwijk, and hold a valid work permit or EU citizenship (visa sponsorship is not available).
Requirements
- Must already live in the Netherlands and be able to commute to Beverwijk.
- Valid work residency permit or EU citizenship (visa sponsorship is not provided).
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet trucks (certification preferred).
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards (HSEQ).
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work on-site and at the central warehouse.
- Basic IT skills for inventory system updates.
