Short description
The Rig Mechanic will be responsible for general repair and maintenance of heavy construction equipment and specialty equipment concerned with Trenchless construction projects. This position works closely with the HDD Field Service Technician, as well as other project personnel to ensure equipment remains suitable for use. Critical for success is repair knowledge of engines, motors, hydraulics, and other equipment components.
Function description
As a Rig Mechanic you must be able to:
- Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, including engine failures and mechanical/electrical issues.
- Perform hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Conduct quality control tests to ensure equipment functionality.
- Perform preventative maintenance and required inspections.
- Dismantle devices to access and replace defective parts.
- Follow supervisor instructions and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Submit accurate documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain field inventory levels.
- Record work performance
Requirements
For this position, you must have:
- Right to work in the European Union (mandatory),
- Good command in English and/or German (minimum B2 level)
- Relevant experience in a similar role within the micro tunnelling sector
- 6 months of experience in equipment maintenance (i.e., changing oil, filters, hose, etc.) or similar experience
- Valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven
