We are looking for a Mud Engineer for a summer replacement Horizontal Directional Drilling project (2 months) in Bilbao, Spain!
Function description
- Design and manage drilling fluid systems
- Monitor and adjust mud properties (viscosity, density, pH, rheology) to optimize drilling performance.
- Ensure proper mud mixing and treatment to maintain borehole stability in long crossings
- Adjust cutting parameters based on ground layers and formations.
- Monitor drilling parameters and proactively manage downhole issues.
- Collaborate closely with drillers and site supervisors to adapt mud formulations in real-time.
- Maintain accurate records of mud properties and performance metrics.
Requirements
For this job, you need to have:
- Right to work in the European Union (Mandatory);
- Good English level (minimum B2);
- Strong knowledge of drilling fluids (mixing properties, and maintenance);
- Previous experience in the Horizontal Directional Drilling technologies in similar tasks.
- A1 Certificate or willing to obtain it in short-notice
- Self-employed documents or Company Registration
