Function Description
As a key leader on deck, your expertise as a Bosun helps ensure safe, efficient, and professional vessel operations. Working closely with the deck crew and officers, you play a vital role in maintaining the highest operational and safety standards onboard.
- Supervise and coordinate daily deck crew activities.
- Lead maintenance, repair, and upkeep of deck equipment and vessel structures.
- Oversee mooring, anchoring, and cargo operations when required.
- Ensure safe working practices and compliance with company procedures.
- Support emergency preparedness, drills, and onboard safety initiatives.
- Mentor and guide deck ratings, promoting teamwork and operational excellence.

Requirements
- Possess valid Basic Safety Training (STCW VI/1) certification, including Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid, and Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities.
- Hold a valid Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (STCW VI/2) certificate.
- Maintain valid Designated Security Duties (STCW VI/6-2) certification.
- Hold a valid Medical Fitness Certificate (STCW I/9).
- Demonstrate previous experience as a Bosun or in a senior deck rating position onboard merchant, offshore, construction, or support vessels.
- Communicate effectively in English and collaborate successfully within multicultural onboard teams.
- Additional certifications, offshore experience, and specialized vessel backgrounds will be considered an advantage.
