March 12, 2014, a date that marks the beginning of a remarkable journey. What started as General Crewing, a small and ambitious team of four, has grown into what we proudly know today as iPS Baltics. Twelve years later, the Lithuanian office stands strong as a vital part of the iPS family, shaped by commitment, expertise, and a deep connection to the maritime community.

From a small crewing agency to a Baltic powerhouse

The early years were humble yet full of drive. In 2014, the team began with a single department focused on crewing services. But ambition quickly met opportunity. By 2017, the Lithuanian office expanded its offering with Lithuanian payroll services, strengthening its ties with seafarers and creating meaningful local employment pathways. This development allowed the team to support seafarers not only in their careers but also in keeping their social security anchored at home, something that continues to receive heartfelt appreciation and positive feedback.

The momentum didn’t stop there.

In 2018, the company rebranded from General Crewing to iPS Baltics, embracing its broader regional role. That same year, the team successfully established a Latvian entity and launched Latvian payroll services, further expanding its reach and expertise throughout the Baltics.

A significant milestone came in July 2022, when iPS headquarters acquired part of the company’s shares. This integration brought the Lithuanian office closer than ever to the global organization, allowing team members to take on new challenges, transition into new departments, and gain valuable professional experience within the wider iPS network.

A team that grew in size, expertise, and heart

Over the past 12 years, the Lithuanian office has transformed from a four-person start-up into a diverse and specialized team. Today, 10 dedicated colleagues contribute their expertise across multiple departments, from Finance and Energy to Mid-Office and QHSE. And among them are two team members currently on maternity leave, showing how life and work grow side by side in this warm, supportive environment.

The team’s stability is particularly unique. Long-term commitment is not just encouraged, it’s lived every day:

• Greta has contributed for more than 9 years.
• Gabrielė for 8 years.
• Silvija for more than 5 years.
• Edmundas has been on the journey for 9 years, with a small 2‑year break in between.
