Fifteen years ago, Rob Kooijmans joined iPS as Director, bringing with him nearly 20 years of international experience from a multinational environment. His decision to transition to a medium-sized, entrepreneurial company with global ambitions marked the beginning of a transformative journey. Under the leadership of Rob and his fellow director, iPS evolved from a fragmented local setup into a globally present organization with offices in 12 countries across all continents. The company’s turnover grew by more than 500%, and in early 2025, iPS established an Executive Board, allowing Rob to step into a non-executive director role.

Innovation driving connection and culture

One of the most significant innovations Rob witnessed was the development of a customized ERP system. This platform connects all iPS offices worldwide in a single database and workflow, integrating both front- and back-office operations. “It’s a powerful tool that not only helps us manage our business but also reinforces our ‘one company’ philosophy,” Rob explains. “No matter where you work, you feel part of the iPS family.” Alongside internal innovation, the global expansion into regions like Asia, the Middle East, the USA, and Europe brought excitement and new opportunities.

A bold venture in Taiwan

A standout project in Rob’s career was the establishment of iPS operations in Taiwan. In early 2019, Rob and colleague Patrick Mans visited the country to explore opportunities in the growing offshore wind sector. Through extensive networking and research, they built a strong local foundation that enabled iPS to support major wind projects from 2019 onward, even during the challenging COVID period with its strict travel and work regulations.

What keeps the spark alive

Rob finds daily motivation in solving complex recruitment and payrolling challenges across the globe. “What drives me is the confidence to say ‘yes’ to any challenge, knowing our team will deliver a timely and effective solution,” he says. “Happy clients, satisfied professionals, and a proud organization, that’s what it’s all about.”

Proud moments and meaningful milestones

Looking back, Rob is most proud of the impact he’s had over the past 15 years. From hiring passionate colleagues and improving systems to implementing client-focused solutions and celebrating company milestones, he’s helped piece together the bigger picture of iPS’s success.

Life beyond the office

Outside of work, Rob is a dedicated family man. With five children and soon five grandchildren, he cherishes life’s meaningful moments. He also enjoys reading, learning about and tasting wine, and playing a few rounds of golf each month.

But this is certainly not the end

Rob’s journey with iPS continues, now from a strategic, non-executive position where his experience and vision remain invaluable. With his deep understanding of international business, passion for innovation, and unwavering commitment to the iPS team, Rob will keep contributing to the company’s future growth and success. The next chapter may look different, but his impact will continue to shape iPS for years to come.
