When Silvija Daugėlienė first walked through the doors of iPS Baltics in September 2020, she was a Lithuanian Maritime Academy student searching for an internship. Five years later, she reflects on a career that has evolved far beyond her expectations.
From Intern to Senior Payroll Officer
Silvija’s professional path began as an intern, but by January 2021, she had secured a full-time position at iPS. “That moment truly felt like the start of my professional journey,” she recalls. Her dedication and hard work paid off when, in August 2023, she was promoted to Payroll Manager, a milestone that confirmed her efforts were valued. Most recently, in January 2025, her role transitioned to Senior Payroll Officer, aligning with iPS’s new organizational structure.

Witnessing Transformation at iPS
One of the biggest changes Silvija has experienced is the integration of iPS Baltics into the global iPS organization. “Becoming one unified company expanded our team and strengthened our international presence,” she explains. This shift fostered closer collaboration across borders, improved workflows, and introduced fresh ideas that made daily operations smoother.
Driving Efficiency Through Innovation
Among her proudest achievements is a project that revolutionized payroll processes: automating the generation of PDF files from Excel for GRIP. Previously, this task consumed half a working day; now, it takes just 20 minutes. “This improvement saved significant time and streamlined our workflow. It motivated me to keep finding ways to optimize processes for the team.”

For Silvija, the best part of working at iPS is the supportive, collaborative environment. “I know I can always reach out to colleagues for help or advice. The open and friendly atmosphere, combined with the diversity of an international team, makes work dynamic and inspiring.”
A Career, and a Life, Built at iPS
Silvija’s journey is not only about professional growth. “Over these five years, I’ve gained experience, confidence, great colleagues… and even met my husband here,” she shares with a smile. “At iPS, you can build your career, learn a lot, and, if you’re lucky, even find your future family.”
Life Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Silvija enjoys cooking with her husband, he handles the savory dishes, while she creates desserts. They also love spending time outdoors and visiting her parents’ farm, a favorite spot to relax and recharge.
