For 15 years, Patrick Mans has been an essential part of iPS Powerful People. His journey reflects not only the evolution of the company, but also the personal development of someone deeply committed to building a meaningful, people‑driven organization. We sat down with Patrick to look back on his milestones, challenges, proud moments, and what continues to drive him after all these years.
From hands-on operations to strategic leadership
When Patrick joined iPS, the company had a strong entrepreneurial spirit, fast‑moving, pragmatic and full of ambition. “I joined iPS when everything was still very hands‑on. Over time, my role shifted from being involved in Finance, daily Commercial Operations and client work to contributing to strategy, culture, leadership and long‑term direction.”
What has remained the same is the drive to build something together. “The energy never changed. But the scale and responsibility did, from doing the work myself to enabling others to do great work for iPS.”
The evolution of iPS
Looking back, Patrick sees a company that transformed while staying true to its roots. “Our international footprint is the biggest change. We grew from a strong player into a truly global HR partner. But even more important is how we matured as an organization.”
iPS became more intentional about leadership, culture, sustainability and long‑term value creation. “Becoming B Corp Certified says a lot about the path we chose. We kept our entrepreneurial spirit, but added depth and purpose.”
A challenge that shaped his career: The Fehmarnbelt Project
One project stands out as a defining chapter: the Fehmarnbelt tunnel project, one of Europe’s most ambitious infrastructure developments. “I was involved from day one, even before anything felt established. Early client meetings took place in spaces we wouldn’t even call proper offices.” The project brought him into negotiations with Danish unions and required navigating complex international expectations. “It was about building trust from scratch, understanding the scale of a mega project and thinking long-term. It demanded resilience, patience and belief in the process.”
What makes him proud? “Seeing it grow into a multi‑year partnership truly reflects who we are: committed, consistent and growing together with our clients.”
The joy of working at iPS
When asked what he enjoys most, Patrick doesn’t hesitate: “The people, the diversity, the personalities, the culture. Everyone brings something unique, and we all share the drive to make an impact.”
He values the dynamic balance at iPS: “We push for success, but remain human. That combination of ambition and genuine care is special.”
Proud moments along the way
Patrick finds pride in the growth of others: “Seeing colleagues grow into leadership roles or international careers is incredibly rewarding.”
On a personal level, becoming a shareholder and co‑owner marked a significant turning point: “It shifted my perspective from building the business to also safeguarding its future. It was a strong vote of trust, one that deepened my commitment.”
He reflects with satisfaction on iPS’s long-term success: “Growing internationally while staying true to our values is not easy. But we managed, and that makes me proud.”
15 years of learning, and still curious for more
Looking back, Patrick feels grateful for the journey: “Staying 15 years is only possible when you’re challenged, learning and evolving. I’m grateful for the trust, the teamwork and even the difficult lessons. And I’m excited about what’s next.”
Life outside iPS
To recharge, Patrick enjoys movement, fresh air and loved ones. “Running, sports and being outdoors help clear my mind. And I deeply value time with family and friends. That balance keeps me grounded and energized for my work at iPS.”
