We are searching for an experienced Chief Officer with a strong background in dredging to join our worldwide working client's expanding dredging crew.
This role specifically involves working as Chief Mate on a hopper dredger, focusing on larger hoppers.
Function description
As the Chief Mate on a hopper dredger, you will play a crucial role in the dredging operations. You will work closely with the vessel's master and share responsibility for overseeing the dredging process. This role encompasses managing engineers, pipe operators, sailors, and the cook, ensuring that their tasks are carried out efficiently and safely. You will supervise dredging activities and maintenance, as well as respond effectively to unexpected situations, including emergencies.
Immediate integration into the existing well-coordinated dredging team is essential to ensure the smooth continuation of production.

Requirements
- Dutch Certificate of Competency at least Chief Mate 3000GT
- Seaman's book
- Valid Maritime Approval
- Valid STCW training
- Fluent in verbal and written Dutch and English
- Proven experience as Chief Mate on board various (larger) hoppers
