Chief Engineer for Multicat Offshore Vessel

Short description

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Chief Engineer to manage and maintain a Multicat Offshore Vessel. The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the engineering department. This role involves maintaining and ensuring the optimal performance of all mechanical and electrical systems on board, managing the engineering crew, and coordinating with the Captain and other departments to ensure efficient vessel operations.

Function description

Some of the tasks and responsibilities to be performed by the Chief Engineer are:

  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all machinery, systems, and equipment on the multicat vessel;
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards;
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability;
  • Manage and coordinate the engineering team, providing guidance and training as needed;
  • Monitor and report on the condition and performance of machinery and systems, identifying and troubleshooting issues promptly;
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory;
  • Liaise with the vessel's Captain and other crew members to ensure smooth operations;
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with environmental regulations and company policies.

Requirements

In addition to having experience in this area, we have the following requirements:

  • Valid STCW certification;
  • Chief Engineer (III/2) Certificate of Competency (CoC) or equivalent;
  • Valid medical certificate (ENG 1, OGUK or equivalent);
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) certification;
  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, practices, and standards;
  • Experience with multicat vessels or similar offshore support vessels;
