Function description
A backhoe engineer on a sea-going vessel is responsible for maintaining the backhoe dredging equipment, as well as performing duties in the engine room and on deck. Perform regular maintenance and repairs on the vessel’s engines and other mechanical systems.
Monitor engine performance, fuel consumption, and conduct routine inspections to ensure optimal operation, troubleshoot and address mechanical issues promptly to prevent downtime. Ensure that the backhoe dredging equipment efficiently and properly working to perform excavation tasks.

Requirements
- Certificate of Competency Chief Engineer
- Seaman's book
- Valid STCW trainings
- Fluent in verbal and written English language
- Proven experience as Chief Engineer on backhoe dredgers
