Function description

Our client is a dynamic joint venture responsible for the design and construction of the world's longest immersed tunnel and the longest tunnel for both road and rail traffic. The joint venture consists of nine internationally renowned construction companies, each bringing valuable experience in large infrastructure projects.


The TE systems are part of the scope of the Marine team as temporary measures to facilitate the immersion of the elements.


We are seeking a talented individual to join the team as a Site Automation Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the tunnel elements through the implementation of temporary installations. These installations play a crucial role in ensuring proper floating, balancing, immersion, and connection of the elements. You will utilize logged data and your expertise to continuously evaluate and refine the performance protocols.


As a Site Automation Engineer, you will collaborate closely with various team members including Marine Systems Engineers, Electrical System & Testing Supervisors, Monitoring & Alarm Handling Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and subcontractors for electrical installations. Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Developing comprehensive testing protocols for all installations.
  • Participating in the commissioning of both standard and specialized tunnel elements.
  • Adapting system changes based on new insights and requirements.
  • Providing automation reports to the Survey team.
  • Taking ownership of adjusting control systems and coordinating necessary changes.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills essential for collaborating with internal stakeholders and contractors.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts as required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
