Ensures that materials are transported to and from work locations safely, economically and on time, in accordance with the relevant guidelines and legal stipulations.
Function description
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and monitors the transport of goods using shipment notice and information through the purchase order system;
- Evaluates and negotiates proposals on planning and tariffs for individual transports with selected logistic service providers and issues service orders through the purchase order system;
- Ensures that the insurance department is notified regarding the insurance of goods and/or materials during transport;
- Ensures that the necessary authentication and certification of transport documentation is in order.
Work Location Description:
- Saudi Arabia for the Karan Project, working on a 6:4 rotation. Report to Project Manager Remco van Veldhuizen, cost to be allocated and recharged accordingly.
Requirements
Job requirements:
- Intermediate Vocational Education (MBO) in logistics, plus supplementary courses.
- Experience with sea and air freight and the preparation of import and export documentation
- Precision when carrying out administrative duties, good communication skills
- Willing to spend shorter or longer periods of time abroad on a regular basis.
